Biography

John was born about 1800 to 1805 in Wainfleet, Upper Canada to Isaac Vanfleet and Catherine.^[1] He lived in Niagara with his wife Elizabeth^[2] Boys^[3] and five children: Elizabeth (19), John (16), Nelson (14), Caroline (6), and Robert (2).^[2]

By 1861, Elizabeth had died and he re-married to Catherine _____, who was older than him.^[4] They were living in Trafalgar and his children Elizabeth and Robert were no longer in the household.^[4]

Catherine died between 1871 and 1880^[5] because he re-married to Sarah Ann Timbers (age 30) on June 6, 1880.^[1] However, Catherine likely died just after the 1871 census because in 1881,^[6] John and Sarah have children born long before they were married: Elizabeth (10), William (7),^[7] Elijah (5),^[8] and Walter (4).^[9] They had no more children after Walter.^[10]

John died (age 94) on February 13, 1900 in Trafalgar.^[11]
